Archbishop Tony is married to Heather and lives in Elk Grove, California, where he leads the Cathedral Parish of St Francis of Assisi and St Anthony of Padua and is minister-general of the Priestly Society of St Francis. He is a former Roman Catholic Franciscan friar and priest (ordained 1987) and served as a pastor and chaplain to a religious community before leaving the Roman Catholic Church in the mid-1990s. He has worked as a counselor and addictions professional at San Quentin prison, where his clients included inmates on Death Row, and as an adjunct professor at the University of California at Berkeley.
Archbishop Tony holds the degrees of Associate of Arts from Bucks County Community College, Newtown, PA, Bachelor of Science from East Stroudsburg State College, PA, Master of Divinity from the Catholic Theological Union, IL, Master of Arts from Liberty University, VA, Doctor of Ministry from The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, PA, Doctor of Psychology from Southern California University for Professional Studies, and Doctor of Divinity from European-American University.
