As of 29 July, Dr John Kersey, who has since 2008 served as Archbishop of Great Britain, has been appointed co-adjutor with right of succession to the Primate of the Apostolic Episcopal Church, the Most Revd. Francis Cajetan Spataro. Archbishop Spataro has announced that he intends to retire as Primate on 5 February 2015 and Dr Kersey will succeed him on that date.
